About Jessica

My Work... I am a learning, web, graphic designer, educator, researcher, and lifelong learner. As an adjunct instructor, I have experience in corporate and educational industries, including K-12 and higher education. My corporate experience includes working as a learning designer in NYC, where I designed and developed eLearning and mLearning courses, instructor-led training, videos, infographics, and performance support tools. I am an Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Instructional Design, Technology, and Leadership at Commonwealth University - Bloomsburg. I graduated from Pennsylvania State University (PSU) with a Doctorate in Philosophy in Learning, Design, and Technology and a Master of Education in Instructional Systems. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication, Management, and Design from Ithaca College.

My Educational Values... I promote a learning environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and lifelong learning. I have taught classes both synchronously and asynchronously for various universities. I ensure that my students have the technical knowledge and skills to be capable and confident in creating solutions to design problems. I believe in continuous professional development and am always looking for ways to stay current in this ever-evolving digital age. I incorporate new trends and technological innovations in graphic communications into my teaching.

My Philosophy... I maintain the balance between functionality and visual impact in everything I do. My work embodies educationally sound and visually appealing designs with innovative interfaces. I love learning and am grateful for the opportunities I have been offered. I strive to use my educational and professional experiences to design, conduct research, and teach individuals to reach their full potential.

My Life... When I’m not pushing pixels, I’m usually finding new challenges to take on or new places to explore. Originally from Westchester, NY, I now call Danville, PA home. My passion for art and design has taken me across the globe—to Peru, Spain, Portugal, France, Prague, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Munich. I’m also an avid runner, having completed the NYC Marathon, five half-marathons, the Iron Girl Sandy Hook sprint triathlon, and a Tough Mudder obstacle race. Whether in design, travel, or fitness, I’m always seeking the next opportunity to learn, grow, and push my limits.
